Best Natural Health Remedies: Tea Tree Oil
March 11, 2010 | Leave a Comment
There are a few natural health remedies I love to get when I’m in down under. Besides stocking up on Manuka Honey and propolis (since I can’t be in New Zealand), I would make sure I stock up on tea tree oil, an essential oil extracted from the leaves of Melaleuca Alternifolia.
My son doesn’t like the woody scent but I love it to the core! Tea tree is known for its antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, insecticidal, and immune stimulant properties. When used as a natural remedy, the essential oil steam distilled from its leaves and twigs to treat range of ailments like cold, sores, acnes and even whooping cough. It also combats skin infections, insect bites, and minor wounds and is a remedy for oral infections.
No matter where I am, I always have a bottle of tea tree oil in my skincare pouch. Tea tree oil can be used directly without any carrier oil. It can be used undiluted as it is non toxic, non-irritating. It is ideal to perform a patch test your skin before using it.
I find it great for insect bites. Previously, in my workplace where I was working to sell my timeshare, I was bitten by some bugs and a few applications of tea tree had helped to clear it! Rubbing it on to scalp will help in getting rid of nits, dandruff and lice. Fights viruses, bacteria, fungi thereby boosting the immune system to ward off infectious disease. It is extremely effective when used undiluted on wounds, minor cuts and insect bites. It cures the affected area by penetrating the skin and leaving no scars. Those with acne problems should dab the oil on the pimple and it will soon clear up fast.
Those with respiratory troubles can find this helpful. Inhalation of few drops of this oil is a great relief for persistent colds, flu, toothache, and cough. A dab of tea tree oil around your nose will open up clogged nose soothing sinuses. With so many benefits, you can now understand this healing oil is one of my favourite natural health remedies!

Holistic Arthritis Treatment For Mom
March 10, 2010 | Leave a Comment
For a long time, my mom has been complaining about pain in her knees, fingers and lower limbs. A visit to the general practitioner had confirmed that she might be suffering from arthritis which is commonly as an inflammation of the joints. I spoke to her about some holistic arthritis treatment including getting her some natural supplements and ointment to lessen the pain and inflammation. These days, there are several ways to effectively manage arthritis pain relief.
Those who suffer from arthritis pain can turn to arthritis diets, exercise programs, over-the-counter and prescription medications, relaxation and positive emotion coping techniques. Suffering form arthritis pain can also be combated with surgery, supplements, home remedies and the natural and holistic way of treating the arthritis symptoms and anxieties. As I spoke to a friend in a medical assistant training school, I was told that Osteoarthritis and the Rheumatoid arthritis are the most common forms of arthritis found today. Patients of both condition experience similar symptoms such as stiffness and swelling.
My mom’s doctor had advised a regular supplement containing MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) and Glucosamine Sulphate Potassium. After a search in my holistic treatment resources, I found Flexcin, a unique arthritis pain relief formula that contains MSM, Glucosamine, bromelian and CM8, a powerful ingredient that acts as a highly effective lubricant in the joints, muscles and other tissues, allowing them to move smoothly. According to the product info, CM8™ functions as an anti-inflammatory and thus, relief from swollen joints is often seen after the 4th or 5th week of treatment.
The testimonies I read further confirmed that Flexcin with CM8 had allowed them better mobility and they can continue to live their lives optimally and continuing doing the things they love. Such holistic treatment products continue to gain attention in the media and among professionals in the medical field who are seeking for natural therapies to counter arthritic pain.

Alternative Therapies and Pain Management
March 9, 2010 | Leave a Comment
None of us like to be in pain. From alternative therapies to over the counter medication, there are many solutions to deal with pain. I believe all of us have experienced pain of some sort at some point of our lives. Pain is generally described as an annoying and excruciating sensory and emotional experience that is basically linked to certain damage on the skin tissue.
There are many alternative therapies that covers all the necessary and effective treatments and methods that are capable of relieving people from the hassles and disabling effects of pain. In the world of medicine, it generally involves the proper use of narcotics and analgesics. Natural or herbal products are among the many types of alternative pain relief options and treatments that are widely available today. You can find these products in the form of oil, ointments, lotion, etc.
Thanks to technology and the advocates in natural therapies, you can find more herbal and natural pain relief products in the health stores and pharmacies today. Many years back, herbal pain remedies have already been used to help mend any form of sprained injury or external bruising. These natural cures are also perfect remedies for rheumatism and arthritis pains. Compared to prescription drugs and medications, natural or herbal pain cures are reported to be equally effective, and users need not to worry about the grave side effects of prescription drugs. My grandma used to use heat therapy to relief her body of aches and pain. All she used was a hot water pack every night and she would just sit by her Amish fireplaces to keep warm. Heat therapy is a popular and cheap remedy for some pain relief options.
Many natural doctors use herbal and natural products as alternative therapies as they are effective in providing pain relief while helping to reduce the use of painkillers or medications. These natural pain relief creams and ointments help to relieve inflammation of muscle and joint conditions, rheumatism, and arthritis, promote faster healing and help to soothe sore muscles too.
