Most dried fruits have four to six times as much sugar as when fresh. This extra sugar is easy to assimilate and will provide more energy than fresh fruits. I believe apricot is the best of the dried fruits. It is higher than the others in Vitamin A, iron, magnesium and potassium and has a little copper and iron as well.
Prunes, even though they are acid, are rich in Vitamin A, potassium and magnesium. Dried fruits have less vitamin C than fresh fruits, except for pears. There is almost twice as much vitamin C in dried pears as ripe, raw pears.
