vinegar – an all purpose cleaner in the house

It is good to consider natural household cleaning agents for the house instead of using those made of harmful chemicals, which often emit strong vapors, toxic and trigger allergies. I make it a point to use natural solvents and detergents in the house, whether it is for cleaning the floors, kitchen tops, furniture, appliances, kitchen utensils, sinks, bathtubs, spills, stains, bathroom faucets, toilet…etc.

Every household should keep a bottle of white vinegar as this solvent cleans like an all-purpose cleaner. You can do that by mixing 1 part water to 1 part vinegar and keep the solution in a spray bottle. Vinegar is a great natural cleaning product, disinfectant, deodorizer and is incredibly cheap. Just be careful not to ever use vinegar on marble surfaces. Don’t worry about the sourish smell in your house as it will disappear when it dries. Here are some cleaning tips using vinegar solution:

Pure vinegar helps to get rid of rings in the toilet bowl. To do that, flush the toilet and pour the undiluted vinegar around the inside of the rim as the water level goes down. Give it a good scrub. If you want to use it on your floor, always test a tile first in case the solution is too acidic or has not been diluted properly. Mop the flour in the bathroom with a vinegar/water solution. The substance will also eat away the soap scum and hard water stains on your fixtures and tile.
