How is summer going with everyone? While you enjoy your fun under the sun, I hope you are covered with a good sunscreen or sunblock to protect your skin from excessive exposures to the strong sun rays. I’m not only speaking to those who sunbathe at the beach or those hitting golf balls on the golf course, but it could be just walking and playing under the sun without any protection.
Excessive exposure of the sun can lead to dark skin spots often called aging spots or liver spots. In order to understand the problem of sunbaths, it must be remembered that sunlight not only acts on the parts of the skin that are directly exposed but it also produces substances in the irradiated skin, which pass with the blood into the internal body. For instance, if your feet is exposed to the sun’s rays, the blood pressure may be elevated and cholerterol is transformed into vitamin D, which acts to deposit calcium in bones or teeth.
For the average person, 10 mins of sunbathing a day is all that is needed. Sunbathing is necessary only to keep up the Vitamin D and A content of the body. A deep suntan may look attractive and sexy and is not beneficial to the skin. So do use a sunblock if you have to be in the sun for more than 20 minutes.
