a look at pigmented skin care

Some people are naturally beautiful and hence don’t need to worry much about using special skin care products. Then there are others, who don’t use skin care cosmetic due to their laziness. Still some feel that skin care cosmetics can harm their skin, and hence abandon the use of any kind of skin care products. However, there are a large number of people who do use skin care cosmetic for specific skin concerns such as acne skin, sensitive skin and in my case, pigmented skin.

Those of us who have pigmented skin can agree that finding the right products can be a daunting task. Most of these whitening skin care products are expensive and contain strong chemicals to lighten the skin tone. If not careful, the ingredients of the products can worsen the skin condition. Some years ago, I tried out a whitening lotion from a reputable cosmetic brand and ended up with redness on my skin. I was terrified. It caused my skin irritation and I stopped using it after few usage. While surfing the web, I stumbled upon ORIKI Cosmeceuticals which is made with Asian, Mediterranean and other Olive (AMO) skin types in mind. After a good look at the products and ingredients, I realize that ORIKI whitening products do not contain Hydroquinone, steroids and mercury. Instead, ORIKI whitening serum contains Arbutin, Licorice Extract, Vitamin C and Mulberry Extract. I have taken the following information from ORIKI website to provide you a better understanding of their benefits:

Arbutin: a natural alternative to hydroquinone, a herbal ingredient from bearberry, blueberry and cranberry. Licorice Extract: a purified extract form the Licorice plant

Mulberry Extract: a herbal extract from the mulberry root.

All these herbal whitening agents work by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, the crucial step in melanin production.

Vitamin C: a skin lightener and potent antioxidant.

Actually, I might give the products a try since I haven’t found the right whitening products for my pigmented skin. A good way to start would be the product kits which are cheaper than buying the individual product separately. Click on the above link to find out more!
