Alternative Remedies From Old Granny

Growing up in my granny’s house, I had gathered much knowledge in alternative therapies whenever I caught a cold, had a cut, down with a fever or injured with a sprained ankle. While some of granny’s natural remedies did worked well, some weren’t that effective. As far as I could recall, here are a few that I would like to mention:

Have A Cup Of Tea with Lemon:
I’m sure you have read somewhere that when you get a cold, the first thing to drink is tea with lemon. This will usually relieve some of the symptoms and give you temporary relief. The reason this works is simple. The hot water from the tea helps open up your repertory system, and the lemon is full of vitamin C which is good for your immune system. Taking vitamin C everyday can help you avoid cold before they start. Personally, I would substitute tea with manuka honey.

Healing Soup:
I know the name Healing soup does not sound appealing, but the soup is made from garlic. The soup helps open the repertory system. The soup also helps kill the germs already in the body causing the cold, and by adding a tablespoon of onion juice you can help remove toxins from your body to help speed the body’s recovery time. Well, some of the best vitamins for men contain the ingredients of garlic to ward the body from bacteria.

Chew A Ginger:
Ginger is another way to lower a fever. It is prepared by cutting up about half ounce of ginger and then boiling it in water. Then strain the brew into a glass and add some honey. A tastier but less effective way is to just cut up a few small pieces of ginger and putting them in a glass. You then pour boiling water into the glass and then put a tea bag into the water. Ginger should be used twice a day to lower the fever then once a day till the cold is gone.

Don’t fret if the above alternative therapies don’t work for you. Just like any other medicine or natural remedies, what works well for one may not work for another. If they don’t work, try out other remedies.

Alternative Therapies and Weight Issues

In the last one week, I read a couple of differing stories on health and beauty that interest me. One talked about someone who lost weight using alternative therapies and another was about a group of women who risked their health to make themselves looked good.

The lady who lost many pounds through alternative therapies had been undergoing acupuncture by a trained and experienced physician and she had lost weight naturally after six months. She didn’t missed her meals neither did she signed up for any weight loss treatments. Her weight loss program was wholly focused on alternative therapies. That was an encouragement for many who had been seeking for solutions and spending lots of money on things that did not work.

With so many weight loss products in the marketplace, it’s up to the individual to pick and choose. Natural weight loss can be easier with a slimming diet package if you have no idea where to begin. Otherwise, you may need to consult a physical trainer or nutritionist to attain your goals. Shop Natural store offers many weight management products for those who are leading a busy lifstyle.

Better Skin With Natural Health Remedies

This morning, I read an article about how some women were getting botox treatment from an unqualified or certified esthetician or it seems to me that many women are willing to take huge risks for the sake of beauty and saving money. Then again, if they were to educate themselves with natural health remedies, the risks may be minimized. Why don’t they take some time to think about what the natural health remedies advocates have been preaching: that the secret to their beauty is love, joy, and laughter. It might very well be true since the mind really controls our body, and that includes the skin.

More money and more beauty treatments don’t mean more beautiful skin. Some people are not willing to make changes to their lifestyle habits and think that money can buy them better or better skin and health. You and I know that this is absolute baloney. People who are obese or very overweight may need fat burner with the advice of a health professional. And if you truly need some artificial skin treatments such as Botox, please do it with a qualified person – esthetician or doctor.

By educating more people on natural health remedies, it will encourage more people to pursue natural health and in turn, benefit the skin and body. There are lots of holistic information in the web and if you aren’t that sort who likes e-material, visit the nearest bookstore or library to gather more knowledge.
