Boosting Immunity with Echinacea

The heat wave is on again! The weather has been incredibly warm and humid the last couple of weeks. I find myself staying in the air con room all day and I’ve also been drinking lots of water to cool the body down. As a result of the heat, I’ve been very conscientious to observe some organic health remedies of taking my manuka honey, Vitamin C, Echinacea and propolis. All for the purpose to ward off any sicknesses caused by the climate and environs change.

These days, people are looking for ways to increase their body immunity and resistance. You can see that in natural and organic health stores with no lack of immune boosting supplements. Echinacea is one of the oldest and popular herbal supplements in the world. Also known as an immunostimulant, it is known to boost a body’s immune system. So how does echinacea work? It works by killing the germs by strengthening an individual’s immune system and it also has the ability to destroy viruses, such as the common cold and flu. Studies have shown that individuals who took the Echinacea experienced less frequent and severe virus infections. I was just explaining to a friend in the industrial supplies business how I have been taking that for months to keep respiratory ailments at bay.

Studies continue to show that there are no toxic effects to taking this herbal supplement. As with any organic health remedies, medication or supplement they are some side effects, some side effects with Echinacea are diarrhea. Remember to always check with you doctor before taking any supplement as it could have an interaction with any medication you are currently taking and could have a negative reaction.
