My Alternative Therapies for Cold and Cough

After nursing a sick boy for a few days, I was the next one to fall ill. I believe many moms experience this too. You have a child who is down with fever, flu and cough and you too caught the virus when your child is getting better. I put myself on many alternative therapies and took lots of manuka honey and propolis, drank lots of water and stayed in bed as much as I could.

I was thankful that after three days, the fever and cold left though I’m still working on stopping that irritated cough. Due to my illness, I haven’t been at work neither can I do my chores back home. I got lots of rest and sleep and I can feel that my body is deprived from all a real break. Nursing a sick child can be demanding and stressful and it’s easy to catch on an infection when you are emotionally tired. But I’m glad my son has recovered and he’s back in school. He has also recovered in time for our shopping day this weekend where we need to buy some gifts for friends and choose some Personalized Jewelry for his teachers.

As part of my alternative therapies, the propolis has been a fantastic natural antibiotic and I believe it has helped me in my recovery process. Active manuka honey is also a wonderful nature remedy for boosting the immune system and it contains antibacterial qualities too. If you are suffering from a cold, fever or cough, try out these natural remedies and you will be surprised that you will recover faster too. Do not hesitate to consult a doctor if your symptoms persists which indicates you need further medical assistance.

Alternative Therapies to Healthier Skin

As the saying goes, “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”. This saying is somehow true and that’s what we wake every morning to see how we look like in the mirror! As such, the pursuit for alternative therapies for healthier and more youthful skin is on the high since many of these skin treatments aren’t cheap to begin with.

Good skin is also perceived as one of the most obvious signs of physical beauty. Poor skin conditions can be caused by excessive use of antibiotics and alcohol who reduce good bacteria in the digestive tract. Taking care of the skin does not have to be expensive and complicated, simple adjustments in one’s lifestyle may spell the difference between healthy and impaired skin. One simple way of taking care of one’s skin is to keep it clean, especially the hands because the hands can spread germs and bacteria to the skin and other parts of the body. With many beauty products on the shelves these days, there are skincare for every sort of condition – face wrinkle cream, acne face serum, brightening lotion…etc. Individuals with dry and flaky skin can use moisturizing soap, lotion, cream, and other skin care products. It is always good to use gentle products that won’t strip the natural moisture of your skin.

Alternative therapies for the skin include regular skin care and good habits. A good and healthy diet with lots of fresh air, laughter and exercise is beneficial to the skin as well.

Take Care of Yourself

As part of a holistic treatment, vitamin and mineral supplements can aid in the prevention of illness and disease as well as giving your body the fuel to run properly. I’m the one who stocks the vitamins for everyone in the house, from Vitamin C to Echinacea for boosting the immune.

If you are thinking about beginning a vitamin and mineral supplement, you should first consult your doctor. If you take any medications you will want to check and make sure that a supplement will not interfere with your medication. You may also want to consult a doctor if you want to find out if there is a specific vitamin or mineral that your are lacking in your system. For general overall health though, many people find that a multivitamin supplement is the best type of vitamins to take. If you are living a busy lifestyle, you may find it hard to take several supplements everyday. I used to be that sort of person who don’t even have time to grab any theater tickets for my favourite band but I’ve learned to slow down these days.

You may want to know that you get vitamin and mineral supplements in different forms as well. You can buy it is a liquid form tends to work in your body faster in terms of absorption. It is also convenient for those on the go that do not have the time to stop and take a pill every morning.
