Moving and Settling In

It’s been two months since we moved to brissy and I’m glad we are more settled now. With the advancement of technology, we are still able to keep in touch with our family and friends and that helps the transition process too. We try to do more outdoor things during summer and it’s nice to keep active while enjoying the fresh air and nice sunshine here.

Talking about technology, I find it so easy to go online to find any information I want. When I’m needing some natural health remedies for a condition, the online world provides me the information and knowledge to guide me in my holistic health practices. In fact some of my friends are taking some holistic health courses online and that gave them the opportunity to pursue an interest close to their hearts. With web cameras so readily available, it’s easy to communicate and learn offshore and distance learning in holistic health have become more popular.

Who knows, I may restart my holistic practitioner when I have more time in my hands in months to come. But for now, I’m trying to find more organic fruit markets in my area and planting my own herbs and vegetables in the little garden that I have.

Weekends and Taking A Break

I’m taking a little break today and since it’s the weekends, I would like to get out there and spend some quality time with my family. My neck is aching and all I need is a good therapist to get the blood circulating. The weather is warm and very humid so it’s just making me tired and yucky.

There are a few errands to run and one of my favourites is to visit the fruit and vegetable store near my place. They have a great supply of fresh veggies and fruits and what I like are the specials that run on the weekends. Weekends is a great time to check out the growers markets and it’s nice just to stroll and chat with the growers. Then, we need to shop for some furnitures and take a look at some pendant lighting for the house. We are still in the process of organizing our new place and I like to keep it neat and tidy.

My hubby had a bout of gout last few days so we will be eating more salads and fruits in our daily meals. Weekends is always nice to laze around my beanbag and read a book and this is what I plan to do today and tomorrow!

Christmas Indulgence and Diet

Christmas is finally here and it’s a time of joyous celebration and fun with family and friends. It’s also a time where we observe our diets last as we dine and indulge in the Christmas dinners and meals.

This is our first Christmas in down under and we had a simple celebration as a family and was also invited to a Christmas gathering with some new friends. Being new residents in a new city, we don’t know what to expect but just go with the flow with the season. We bought a simple Christmas gift for our son and he was hoping for some new Marvel comic story books. We still have a rather healthy diet despite all the goodies that lined the shops during this festive. In fact, we’ve been keeping ourselves active by doing morning walks by the river banks and it was good to breathe in the clean fresh air in the parks.

As you celebrate during this festive, don’t forget to eat wisely and live happily. It’s ok to break the rules a little but don’t go overboard and overstuff yourself. You will soon find that you have to work harder to lose all that you have gained over the one week of indulgence.
