Papaya - A wonderful digestive aid
January 24, 2007 |

One of the favourite fruits in our household is the tropical papaya or paw paw, as some may call it. This orange fruit is packed with lots of Vitamin A and is a wonderful protein digestant. When eaten after a meal, the enzymes in papain, found in papaya, helps to break down proteins, thus aiding in the digestion process. This fruit is an effective remedy for stomach troubles. You can use the papaya seeds to make a tea out of it.
To make papaya tea, simply dry some seeds, which contain natural papain. Use a tablespoon of seeds to a cup of hot water. Simmer in hot water for a few minutes if you want to get more papain out of it. That’s it!
