Do you need multivitamin?
April 17, 2007 |
The subject on multivitamins continues to be on constant discussion among health and medical professionals. While some agree the multivits are essential to supplement the body with the lack of nutrients and trace minerals not available from food sources, others think that multivits are a waste of money.
Personally, I take a multivit daily as a lot of the nutrients in our foods today are lost either by overcooking or wrong handling. If you like me, believe in popping a multivit, here are a few tips to shop for the right supplement:
• Choose a fast absorbing multivitamin. Soft gel and liquid formulations are easier to absorbed than hard capsules
• Ensure that the multivit is formulated with plant based ingredients
• Buy a good reliable and good quality one - check the nutritional information and make comparisons
The 12-in-One multivitamin contains 12 complete nutrient groups that cater to your body’s needs. If you would like to try a 12-in-One MultiVitamin, packed with 117 nutrients, 72 trace minerals and 47 fruit and vegetable concentrates, take advantage of the RISK-FREE Trial now. You just need to pay for shipping and 4 bottles will be sent to you - FREE. I’ll be taking up the offer!

I believe that multivitamins are necessary for a balance diet. Those people who think that multivitamins are just a waste of money are probably not concerned with their health.
Yes, I do believe that a multivit is necessary esp for those who do not get enough nutrients from foods or do not have a balanced diet.
I also agree with multivitamins. We just have to be careful in mixing it with different drugs though. It may have some reaction with other drugs. It’s better to consult a doctor about it.
Vitamins are good suppliments but eating a lot of greens is the best.
Alex: Thanks for the input.. I do agree that it’s important not to mix multivitamins with food. If uncertain, a doctor should be consulted. Or else, leave a gap of 1 hour between vitamin and medications.
Pinoy: Yes.. I definitely agree. But problem with our greens these days is not it is coated with pesticides and inorganic sprays, which can be harmful to our health. Overcooking greens will also destroy the nutrients in the vegetables too. Thus, a good multivit helps to supplement what the body does not get for overall body functions and maintenance.
It’s all about absorption! If you don’t have the right particle size you cannot metabolize! Plain as day, pill or chelated form just don’t work.
