I just received a health insurance renewal letter the other day in the mailbox. Looks like it’s that time of the year again. Actually, it makes me wonder - how many people buy health and medical insurance among us? Or how about life insurance? I know most of us will need to buy car insurance before we can drive our car on the road cos that is mandatory but what about the other kinds of insurance?

As far as health insurance or life insurance is concerned, I do believe in being prepared for unexpected moments of our lives. For the least, a health insurance can help to cover your medical expenses should a critical illness strike, so can some life insurance plans. Personally, we save a few thousand on maternity hospitalization bills because I was covered by my medical insurance. Some people go to the extent of buying contents insurance. Basically, getting an insurance coverage is about preparing for the unexpected and having the assurance that our loved ones’ needs are looked after should any misfortune befalls us.
