healthy eating: you need water

January 29, 2008 |

Sometimes I get too busy going through the daily routine of life that I have forgotten the importance of healthy eating. The last few days, I have been busy with toilet training my boy, shopping for cufflinks for hubby’s birthday, finishing up marketing materials for our events and keeping the house tidy.

Healthy eating requires you to eat a number of nutrients every day. In fact, there are 40 different nutrients you need to ingest in order to keep your body healthy. That’s a lot of nutrients you need to know about! Luckily, you can break down all of these nutrients into smaller categories in order to keep them organized in your mind and make sure you get all of the foods you need.

First and foremost, everyone needs water in order to live a healthy life. Without water, we become dehydrated, and eventually die. You lose water when you sweat and through daily bodily functions, so water must be replenished. Drinking about 8 glasses a day is recommended. Of course, water is found in food as well as in drinks, so you can get your 8 glasses by eating foods like watermelon.

Water is also one of the best diet aids and fat reducers and helps the body eliminates waste and toxins.

But I always get worried about too much water. I had been up to 100+ ounces a day, but I have cut it back to 80. No clue on how that is affecting me yet, but I will see.

I agree that water is very vital. I try to drink at least 2 liters of water everyday.

I completely agree, although I have to argue against the 8 glasses of water a day, I wrote an article on this not too long ago. It’s actually 8 glasses of fluids, and there are fluids in everything, including food. I don’t mean to be spammy, but if you like check out the article I wrote, let me know what you think :-)

I always forget to drink my 8 glasses. I need to carry a jug around with me. That is the only way I will remember.

Yes, i do agree that water is required. But i would differ that “any fluid instead of water” part.

I wrote it in my page here. I know a person who came to this yoga school with many little discomforts in the body. Upon inquiry it was found that he took only fruit juices, never took water. He was advised to drink at least 7-8 glasses of water apart from juices. In 14 days flat he reported to be cured of all discomforts.

God has created water for a purpose in the body which any fruit juices cannot replace. Water helps in the detox more than fruit juices without underestimating the value of juice here. A warm glass of water as the first thing in the morning does a excellent job of body cleansing.

I think enough said. Dont want to sound like a school teacher :)
