Alternative Therapies on Weight Loss and Management

On the dinner table, I gave my son his portion and demanded that he finished his food. He turned to me and said, “But I don’t want to be fat!” I was surprised to hear that from a six year boy and I guessed the media and peer influence had a great part to play. In our home, we practiced alternative therapies and we also believe that with a balanced diet, weight management shouldn’t be an issue.

However, in society today, media distortion and exaggerated advertising campaigns have done a lot to shape the new standard in beauty. To be beautiful is to stay slim and we can see that on catwalks and Hollywood’s portrayal. In reality, nobody wants to be called a ‘fatty’, a fatso or be described as being ‘fat’. There are many weight loss and management options in the marketplace today, including buying pills online. Most of these seek to help a person lose weight, burn fat, blocks fat absorption and increase a fullness sensation.

I often share with my insurance agent about alternative therapies to weight management whenever we got round to discussing cheap car insurance options. She has been struggling with weight loss and faces problems with a healthy diet due to her busy schedule. She also finds it hard to stop snacking as she often skips meals when her appointments are full up in the day.

While there are many weight loss and management options around, there are many which appeal. Besides looking at these options, alternative therapies such as a dietary change, acupuncture, regular exercise and getting sufficient rest can be solutions to consider.
