Holistic Treatment: Exercise Improves Sleep

Yesterday, I just booked my hubby and myself to a one hour massage therapy as part of our holistic treatment process for our overall health. I am also planning to include 3 or 4 times of exercise in a week to improve my physical being and increasing my heart rate. Exercising can also help to improve our sleep quality which means we can feel better the next day.

Research and studies indicate that there is a direct correlation between how much we exercise and how we feel afterwards. You should try and increase your physical activity during the day. The goal here is to give your body enough stimulation during the day so that you aren’t full of energy at night. Your body requires a certain amount of physical activity in order to keep functioning in a healthy manner. It is also important to note that you should not be exercising three or four hours before you go to bed.

The ideal exercise time is in the late afternoon or early evening. You want to make sure you expend your physical energy long before it is time for your body to rest and ready itself for sleep. You should attempt to exercise at least three or four times a week for a period of 30 minutes or so. You can include walking or something simple. If you prefer, you can include strenuous activities such as running as well. You can even get an exercise ball and spread a mat on your laminate flooring and do some stretches or pilates exercises.

The goal here is to increase your heart rate and strengthen the capacity of your lungs. By adding a regular exercise activity to your daily schedule will help you to improve your overall health and help you emotionally as well. As your sleep quality improves, this can accelerate your holistic treatment process in the long run.

Holistic Treatment and Vegetables for Kids

Since arriving Brisbane, we have been eating more raw vegetables and I’m preparing more salads than before. In all holistic treatment, raw vegetables and fruits contain nutrients and minerals that are beneficial for our body. And it’s good to train young children to take raw vegetables and fruits too.

If you want your child to eat vegetables, improve your own attitude towards eating them. Early in age, child tends to mimic either or both parents for almost everything. If you as a parent dislike any particular vegetable, your child will do the same. If you encourage holistic health, they will also learn a thing or two about it. I was reading about Offshore Injury online and I found a few tips to inspire children to eat vegetables in their daily diets.

How you eat and what you eat affects your child directly. If you want your child to eat something that you dislike, you have to make an attempt to eat it first and then encourage your child to try a spoonful or plateful of it. It is not easy to get children to like any new food the first time. Keep reintroducing them from time to time.

Some tricks of trade that you can try to get your child to eat vegetables.

- Blend vegetables in a blender and add them to spaghetti sauce or liven up any non-veg dish.

- Keep a plateful of green salad, either in raw or grated form. You can toss up a salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, lettuce, carrots, cabbage, onion, and radish and so on. You can have salads either at mealtime or in between meals, as a snack.

- While making sandwiches for lunch, add lettuce, tomato slice or carrots in between. Chicken, tuna or pasta salads taste great with dash of vegetables in it.

- If your child thrives on noodles, add boiled or lightly steamed vegetables to it.

- While making pizza, add chopped broccoli, spinach, etc in addition to other toppings.

Manuka Honey for Holistic Treatment

I’m a big fan when it comes to taking manuka honey as it’s a an effective and versatile healer. In my experience, manuka honey is one powerful remedy in holistic treatment and it has a long history of use for treating several ailments including fever, urinary infections, diarrhea and burns.

Both the oils and honey of the manuka plant are antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. Manuka honey can help to repair damaged skin, disinfects wounds and encourages healing, speeds skin regeneration and making it effective in treating leg ulcers, burns, skin grafts, scars, sores and slow healing skin infections. While doing some research on debt settlement scams recently, I found out that doctors have used it to treat burns on soldiers wounded in Iraq with success.

Honeys that has a UMF label of at least 10 is more potent which is better for fighting infections.
