Having An Organic Health Garden

A new organic shop has just opened up around the corner and this means I would have closer accessibility to my organic health shopping. When I was in Bali, I was delighted to see so many organic salads in the restaurant menus and they were indeed delicious!

I really hope that I can grow an organic garden some day. It is nice to pick some herbs from the garden, pluck a few pesticide free tomatoes and savor a ripe fruit from my own tree. There are indeed many benefits to having an organic garden. One thing I know, there will be no pesticides or synthetic fertilizers used. These chemical products are applied to obtain crops all the time regardless plagues or weather conditions, and affect the quality of the vegetables. Besides, pesticides are usually poisonous to humans.

Some years ago, a friend who knows that I’m into organic health send me a couple of Christmas cards with some real organic plant seeds. I have been busy that I haven’t got time to start planting them. The thing with organic garden is this – You can be rest assured that your vegetables will not be genetically modified (GM). Antibiotics, drugs and hormones are used on vegetables to grow more and larger ones. One of the consequences of this practice are vegetables which look all the same and are usually tasteless. Besides, we end up consuming the hormones that have been used on the vegetables, with the potential risks for our health.
Eating your own organic vegetables will be much more healthy for you. They will not contain any of the products or chemicals named above, and they will be much more natural than any ones you would find at the supermarket. Your health will not be at risk because you will then know that nothing has been added to your vegetables.

Organic Health and Tea Tree Oil

I love hanging around in the bookstores on the weekends as I can take time to read up some organic health books on the shelves. Though the internet is a great source of information, flipping the pages of health books and magazines is still my favourite past time. It is inspiring to discover new information on alternative therapies.

I have a friend who has recently gone into an organic health business and she was sharing with me the wonderful benefits of tea tree oil. I’ve been using tea tree oil for many years and find it to be an amazing first aid item in the home. Besides using it on itch, bites and cuts, tea tree oil can also be used for animals; Bites, cuts, stings, rashes, dermatitis, lice, mange, ringworm, fleas, and ticks are just a few of its veterinary uses. Some people find that it is one of the best acne treatments though you may need to dilute it on sensitive skin areas.

Melaleuca oil may be applied full strength or diluted in water or other type of oil like olive oil. Most tea tree oil that is produced is added to skin and beauty care products, such as deodorants, shampoos, and mouthwashes. Industrial-grade oils are used as disinfectants, floor detergents, and can be added to air conditioning and ventilation systems to kill mold and fungus. There is no doubt that tea tree oil is one of nature’s most precious organic health remedies.

Organic Health Store for Next Trip

I’m on holiday at the moment so I thought I would drop a quick note here. It’s always nice to be back in Hong Kong despite the poor air quality that the country is known for. But what’s comforting is that I’m coming back to a room with an oxygen air purifier. Well, this means alot to someone who cares about organic health and holistic treatment. This, to me, is a selling point of Chi Residences cos they care about the guests’ health and wellness.

This is purely a vacation for me and I’m getting sufficient retail therapy to keep me happy. My husband finds it hard to understand why a woman needs that many pairs of shoes and bags and why buying them makes her happy. It’s hard to explain but retail therapy is indeed ‘therapeutic’ as long as you don’t buzz your credit card!

Hong Kong is a great place to eat, shop and have fun. It’s a place where you can find many traditional chinese medicinal products and organic health shops are mushrooming in affluent areas. There are also many holistic treatment centers which provide therapies and services that relax the busy locals. You can many of these centers in Central district.

I didn’t have time to experience any of these therapies or to visit any organic health stores due to my short time here. I only did some shopping, dining and searching for some gifts. I promise my uncle to get some tatuaje cigars for him.

I certainly hope to visit an organic health store next trip and perhaps pop in one of the wellness centers for a good massage or foot reflexology. Til then, I’ll flying home tomorrow!
